Loss of control over car may result in fatal car accidents

On Behalf of | Jan 31, 2018 | Car Accident Injuries |

Two men tragically lost their lives in a bizarre Texas car crash involving an ATM. The motor vehicle accident took place on a recent Sunday. Sometimes, these types of fatal car accidents occur as a result of the carelessness of another driver, which is grounds for civil litigation.

Regarding the recent crash, police said a 25-year-old man was driving his pickup truck north along a street. However, he ended up losing control of his truck. His truck collided with the car of a man, 43, who was performing an ATM transaction nearby.

The man who was at the stand-alone ATM passed away as a result of the crash. He likely never saw the automobile that took his life. Police reported that the driver who struck him also lost his life. Four cars were ultimately involved in the collision, which obliterated the ATM. Authorities said they were not sure what caused the 25-year-old driver to leave the roadway, but they continued to investigate the accident.

The surviving loved ones of the man who was killed at the ATM while in his car may opt to file a wrongful death claim, seeking damages. Even though the man who reportedly caused the accident ended up dying, the wrongful death lawsuit can still be filed against his estate. Anyone else with an ownership interest in the pickup truck he was driving at the time of the wreck may also be named in the suit. A successfully fought suit, based upon a showing of negligence, may result in damages that might help to cover funeral costs and other losses resulting from these types of car accidents in Texas.
