Fighting For Workers Injured In Offshore Accidents

Injured while working offshore? Our attorneys have been successfully representing injured longshoremen, offshore crew members and seamen for more than 50 years.

At Dilley Law Firm, we are advocates for injured workers in San Antonio, the Rio Grande Valley and throughout the state of Texas. Offshore accidents need to be handled by experienced lawyers who thoroughly understand maritime laws and how they apply to a worker’s specific injuries.

The Jones Act

The Jones Act protects a seaman’s health and livelihood. The Jones Act states that a seaman who has been injured may have the right to pursue a case against the captain, ship owner or crew members after an accident, injury or illness.

The Longshore & Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act

The Longshore Act protects maritime workers who are not covered by the Jones Act. The LHWCA provides benefits to workers for work-related injuries and occupational diseases. It also provides benefits to the widow, widower or eligible survivors after the death of a worker if it was caused by a work-related injury or illness.

Are you an injured longshoreman or the family member of one? Longshoremen who are injured in work-related accidents have the right to seek financial compensation for their injuries, pain and suffering. If you have been injured while performing your longshore duties, time is of the essence to make a claim for benefits.

Maritime Law

Maritime or admiralty law is a body of laws and regulations that govern offshore activities in our navigable waters and the open sea. Learn more about maritime law and how we can assist with protecting your rights by visiting our Maritime Law page.
