Car accidents involving buildings may lead to deaths

Two individuals lost their lives following a motor vehicle accident involving a pizza parlor in Texas. The accident also took the lives of four dogs. These types of fatal car accidents sometimes occur due to the carelessness of certain drivers, in which case the driver may be held liable for the deaths resulting from them.

According to police, a motor vehicle driver was going north along Highway 155 and suddenly crashed into the parlor, which sells both pasta and pizza. The restaurant ended up catching fire due to the collision. The owners of the restaurant and their son reside above the eatery in an apartment but were able to flee the building safely.

The restaurant family’s dog, however, died in the blaze. In addition, the driver of the car that ran into the restaurant passed away at the crash scene. A passenger in the car also died. At the time of the accident, the pizza restaurant had been open for just six days.

The loved ones of the car passenger may opt to file a wrongful death claim against the car driver, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages sustained. Even though the car driver also passed away in the Texas collision, a lawsuit may be filed against his or her estate, and likewise, anyone else with an ownership interest in the car may be sued. A successfully fought claim, based upon a showing of negligence, may lead to the awarding of monetary damages. These damages may help the family to cover costs associated with these types of fatal car accidents, such as burial expenses, and more easily move forward from the tragic accident.
