Car accidents may result from over-correcting steering wheel

Two people recently lost their lives in a single-car crash in Texas. The accident occurred on a Monday morning along Interstate 40. These types of car accidents are often attributed to the careless or reckless actions on the road, in which case the driver believed responsible may be held accountable through the civil court system.

The accident occurred at about 8 a.m. A man was driving on the interstate when he reportedly started to swerve off the roadway. He then overcorrected, which caused him to lose control of the vehicle.

The car ended up flipping several times in the median and then came to a rest. One of the passengers was thrown from the vehicle. Both he and the driver died at the accident scene. Meanwhile, another passenger suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken by helicopter to a hospital. All parties were wearing their safety belts except for the passenger who died.

The surviving loved ones of the passenger who lost his life may choose to file a wrongful death claim in a Texas civil court, seeking the reimbursement of financial damages. Likewise, the injured passenger is entitled to file a personal injury lawsuit. Even though the driver passed away in the crash, a lawsuit may still be filed against his estate as well as anyone else listed as a registered owner of the car he was operating when the crash took place. A successfully presented lawsuit may lead to the entry of a monetary judgment that may help cover medical bills, funeral expenses, any loss of wages and other documented damages that are typical in these types of car accidents.
