A recent recall of food dehydrators may affect consumers in the state of Texas. The product recall involves EZDRY dehydrators distributed by Greenfield World Trade. These defective products have the potential to overheat and thus pose burn and fire hazards.

The dehydrators being recalled are white, and each feature six trays. They were sold at Amazon.com online as well as at Kohl’s stores throughout the United States between June of 2016 and February of 2017. The dehydrators cost anywhere from $40 to $50.

Officials said consumers who have these products should immediately quit using them. They can get in touch with the company for prepaid shipping labels to return the products and get complementary replacements. Customers may also opt to simply get complete refunds.

A company’s goal when issuing a product recall is to remove defective products from the hands of customers before they cause harm. Unfortunately, sometimes, the damage has already been done by the time a product recall is finally issued to the public. Consumers in the state of Texas who suffer harm as a result of using dangerous products have the right to take legal action by filing product liability lawsuits against the product makers, seeking damages. Liability needs to be established before the civil court hearing the case and before damage claims will be adjudicated. Monetary compensation cannot undo the events that led to a customer’s injuries due to using a dangerous product, but it can help the victim to feel a sense of justice in light of the ordeal.
